UNIVERSITY TOO EXPENSIVE:

San Jose, California. Going to college in America is becoming so expensive that most people may soon be unable to afford it. A report from the National Center for Public Policy and Higher Education found that the cost of sending a child to college grew 439 per cent from 1982 to 2007, compared to a 147 per cent increase in median family income. In addition, many middle -and lower- income families have been forced to take on debt and apply for financial aid to pay for their children's higher education.

TERMINATOR SOLDIERS:

Bloomington, Indiana. The US military has recruited a British robotics expert to help build robot soldiers that will not violate the Geneva Convention. "The question they want answered is whether we can build automated weapons that would conform to the laws of war,"
Colin Allen, scientific philosopher at Indiana University told The Telegraph. Many scientists, however, say that it will be impossible to build robots that don't make mistakes.

SMITH FOR PRESIDENT:

Will Smith has staked his claim to play Barack Obama if a film about the president is ever made. He says that he is perfect for the role because he and Obama are both tall and, most importantly, have big ears. "That's the key", Smith says. "America love ears, you know? Mickey Mouse started it; Goofy and Dumbo followed behind. And America just loves the ears". Smith also said that he would wait until Obama "writes the end of the story" before playing the role.

WRITING:

A life story
I was born in Girona in 1994. When I was young, we lived in Girona. We've moved since then, and I've lived here in Banyoles for ten years now.
My earliest memory is very clear. We were on holiday in Salou and I went to Port Aventura with my family. I also remember my first day at "Casa Nostra". I was very nervous because I didn't know anyone but now I've got a lot of friends.
I've been at "Casa Nostra" for eight years. I've changed since I was young. I think that I'm friendlier and funnier now, and my hair has changed a lot. When I finish secondary school, I'll do "Batxillerat" and then I'll go to university. I'd like to work with something related to the computers. Before I'm old I really want to do parachuting.

WRITING:

AN INCREDIBLE ACCIDENT!

This was the incredible scene yesterday at Praed Street in London. A man who was driving home got confused while he was talking on the phone and the car fell down in a hole.
The incident began at nine o'clock. At first, when the car fell down in the hole, people were surprised and they couldn't believe it. Then someone phoned the rescue services and they came as soon as possible.
After five minutes the rescue services arrived. They tried to get the man out of the car. But the operation was difficult and it got longer. Finally, the rescue service could ge the man out of the car and everyone became calmer.
Lucky, the man didn't have any wound. When the situation was finally controlled, he said: "It has been a very frightening experience. Now I will be more responsible and I'll drive more attentive."

WRITING:

LAST SUMMER

This summer has been fantastic. First, I stayed in Banyoles with my friends. We did a lot of different things like playing tennis or swimming, etc. We went out some nights too. I met with my friends a lot of days, so it was funny. Then, in August, I went to Alp, a village near "La Molina". There I have friends, so we could do a lot of different activities. We always went to do excursions on motorbike. We went out everynight too. It was fantastic. Finally, in September, I stayed in Banyoles until we began school. Just one weekend I went to Barcelona to a friend's house and it was great.

THE BEST BLOG

In my opinion, the best blog from the students of the past year is the Jordi Costa's blog. Here's the link: http://jordisportfolio.blogspot.com.
I think that this is the best blog because he has post all the things and the writings, speakings and other things are good.

WELCOME VISITORS

Hello, my name is Pol. In this blog, I'll post writings, speakings and other things that we do in English. I hope you like it!
My objective for this course is to work harder than last year and to improve my English. I'll also try to do better writings and to improve my pronunciation. Finally I'll try to participate more in the class.
I think that 4th ESO will be the most difficult curse, so the objective is obvious: work hard. In general I think that I'll pass 4th ESO without problems.
