Lyrics

Can anybody help me im outta plans guess I left my world in somebody’s hands I don’t like to hurt but but everyone gets weak someone to rely on that’s what I really need

Now here we stay its all that were worth I’ve been thru the pain and been dragged thru the dirt whatever they tell you were bigger than words I’ve been where your standing I know how it hurts let this be a song now and this be a day and we stand together well be okay
Because were survivors were making it work expecting the best when they hope for the worst

One love - this is the way we found
One love - even though they'll let you down
One love -nobody’s perfect now
One love -don’t let that hold u down
One love - lets stick together now
One love -we got to stand our ground
One love - its easy to believe in
One love - believe in u and me
Onee loveeeeeeeee

Now I cud try and fix this all by myself but I know it’d turn out better if u help no one likes to hurt but but everyone gets weak someone to rely on that’s what everybody needs

BATTLE OF SEXES

Are exams necessary to evaluate the students?

In my opinion I think that they are necessary, because the exams results show the capacity of each one. These are the reason for which I think they are necessary.

I believe that, without exams, students wouldn't study, because teacher would evaluate other things like attitude or the homework quality. On the other hand, if we do exams, they make students to study hard, because they are an important part of the final mark.

Another argument in favour of exams is the discussion between parents and teachers. If we don't do exams, a lot of the parents of the students who have failed would demand to the teacher the reasons for which his son has failed.

In conclusion, exams are necessary to evaluate the students. I think it's necessary something more than the opinion of the teacher to respect the work of the student and to evaluate him or her.

THE UNIT:

The unit begins with a reading about the battle of sexes. It talks about the differences about the marks of the boys and the marks of the girls. It also talks about which are the subjects that the girls and the boys get better marks.

Marc: Sorry, but you'll have to park somewhere else.
Pol: Is there anywhere near here?
Marc: Yes, you could try Baker Street, right there.
Pol: OK then. Thanks for your help.

WRITING:

A diary entry

I'm in a difficult situation at the moment. One of my classmates, Alex, stole a CD from a shop. The police interviewed him and he lied. He said that he had been with me in my house. To protect him, I lied to my parents too. But unfortunately, a security video from the shop shows Alex stealing the CD.

First of all, I think that Alex was wrong to steal the CD from the shop. I don't know why he did it, because his parents are rich.
Secondly, I would have said the truth to my parents, because now they are angry and we have argued. If I didn't help Alex, now I wouldn't be in this situation.

I don't think that this will happen again. Alex's parents have grounded him for one week, so he's probably learned his lesson.

WRITING:

A letter explaining a problem

I've had a problem recently. Two of my friends are going out, and the boy is really in love with her. But on the other hand, the girl isn't really interested in the relationship. On fact, I've seen her sometimes flirting with others.
I'm worried because if the boy knows that she's flirting with others, he will be very angry and he's capable of everything. I think that they've to talk calmly and solve their problems. The inconvenient is that he's really in love with her and he doesn't realize.
But maybe I shouldn't worry or interfere.
I'd really like some advice because if they don't do something, they will have a big argument.

MAGAZINE:

Manchester United FC

One of the most successful club in English football, Man Utd is also one of its richest (worth €1.3 billion). Three-times winners of the European Cup (1968,1999 and 2008) and 17 times League Champions, the "Red Devils" have been in the top league of English football every year but one since 1938. Eric Cantona and David Beckham once played here; today's stars include Wayne Rooney and Ryan Giggs.

MAGAZINE:

Cinema 3-D

To say that 3-D movies have taken a long time to become accepted is an understatement: the first one (now lost) was produced in 1922, and for generations they have been considered as little more than a gimmick. All that changed in 2009, however, with a series of films including Up and Avatar. Whereas previous 3-D technology made objects leap forward from the screen, the new technology creates a depth-of-field similar to the way we see the real world. And as James Cameron proved with the 3-D realization of his alien planet in Avatar, the technology can now make action scenes more visceral and the visual experience more beautiful.
For the film industry, which has lost billions because of internet downloading, 3-D offers the public a good reason to see films in the cinema. One day, no doubt, this advantage will disappear as home screens become 3-D, too. But for the next few years the magic will be back where it is supposed to be - in the cinema.

3TH TERM

dimecres, 3 de març del 2010

PERSONAL REFLECTION (2nd TERM)

- What's the best activity for you to learn English?

I think that the best activity to learn English is doing dialogues, because they improve your pronunciation and vocabulary. I also think that it's interesting to do projects like cooking. With this project, you learn to say the steps about cooking a dish.

Here's the address of his blog: www.noguesportfolio.blogspot.com

Write down your objectives for 3rd term.

On the 3rd term, I'll try to improve my pronunciation. I'll also organize better, and I'll do the writings and dialogue before. Finally, I'll do a better presentation of the blog

EXTRA POINTS: VIDEO NEWS

I found this video on CNN webpage: http://edition.cnn.com/video/

In my opinion I think that it has been one of the most dangerous disaster in the last years. There are about 200.000 dead people for the earthquake and a lot of people hasn't got a house now.
I think that the rich countries should help Haiti and donate money or food. If all rich countries help this people, they might will recover. Here's an image of Haiti, after the earthquake.
