BATTLE OF SEXES

Are exams necessary to evaluate the students?

In my opinion I think that they are necessary, because the exams results show the capacity of each one. These are the reason for which I think they are necessary.

I believe that, without exams, students wouldn't study, because teacher would evaluate other things like attitude or the homework quality. On the other hand, if we do exams, they make students to study hard, because they are an important part of the final mark.

Another argument in favour of exams is the discussion between parents and teachers. If we don't do exams, a lot of the parents of the students who have failed would demand to the teacher the reasons for which his son has failed.

In conclusion, exams are necessary to evaluate the students. I think it's necessary something more than the opinion of the teacher to respect the work of the student and to evaluate him or her.

THE UNIT:

The unit begins with a reading about the battle of sexes. It talks about the differences about the marks of the boys and the marks of the girls. It also talks about which are the subjects that the girls and the boys get better marks.
About grammar, there's a part of the word order, for example, where has to be the subject, verb, object or place in a normal sentence.
Finally, there's a writing about school exams.
